U.S. Navy Adm. Christopher Grady, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, presents a coin to U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Jacob W. McKnight, an intelligence specialist and senior analyst with S-2, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, during Exercise ARCTIC EDGE 2025 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 18, 2025. McKnight served as the senior analyst for Task Force Ripper’s Intelligence Operations Center, leading six all-source intelligence Marines and one imagery analyst in producing multiple intelligence products, including Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace (IPB) and collection plans. His leadership enhanced 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines’ intelligence capabilities during operations and exemplified the professionalism and initiative expected of a Marine noncommissioned officer. AE25 is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities and enhance joint and allied force interoperability in the Arctic.
