U.S. Navy Adm. Christopher Grady, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, recognizes U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. James P. Monaghan, a logistics specialist with Marine Air Control Group 48, during Exercise ARCTIC EDGE 2025 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 18, 2025. Monaghan, who served as the mobility chief for Marine Forces North G-4 during AE25, coordinated the reception and onward movement of more than 1,420 short tons of cargo and 838 personnel, ensuring the successful deployment and sustainment of Marine forces in a dispersed Arctic environment. AE25 is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities and enhance joint and allied force interoperability in the Arctic.
