250801-N-OV429-1004: NEWPORT, RI (August 1, 2025). Hospital Corpsman Third Class Joshua Achanzar was presented the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal by Capt. Rona Green, Commanding Officer, Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command New England during awards quarters, Aug. 1, 2025. Hospital Corpsman Third Class Achanzar's professional achievement in the superior performance of his duties while serving as a surgical technician, 2nd Medical Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group from April 2022 to June 2025. Hospital Corpsman Third Class Achanzar demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication across budget submitting offices 27 and 15. In support of Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Portsmouth, he facilitated 360 hours of Tier 1 Tactical Combat Casualty Care to 240 sailors and evaluated 50 students on tactical trauma assessments with 100 percent pass rate. While assigned to Burmese Chase, he provided medical coverage for 140 foreign allies ensuring safety during high risk operations. As command fitness leader, he guided 200 sailors in the completion of body composition assessments and physical readiness tests, resulting in a 95 percent pass rate. Additionally, he provided 40 hours of one on one training to two sailors and heavily impacted the overall 50 percent enhancement program graduation rate for cycle 2024. Petty Officer Achanzar's initiative, perseverance, and loyal devotion to duty reflected credit upon him and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.
