NORFOLK, Va. (July 17, 2025) – An MH-60S Seahawk helicopter piloted by Capt. Steven M. Thomas, outgoing commander of Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Atlantic (CHSCWL), flies over Naval Station Norfolk during an aerial change of command ceremony. The event marked the formal transfer of leadership from Thomas to Capt. David W. Ayotta Jr. CHSCWL provides operational oversight, training, and readiness support for east coast-based helicopter sea combat squadrons deploying worldwide in support of maritime operations.
