NORFOLK, Va. (July 17, 2025) – Two MH-60S Seahawk helicopters, piloted by Capt. Steven M. Thomas and Capt. David W. Ayotta Jr., conduct a flyover during an aerial change of command ceremony for Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Atlantic (CHSCWL) over Naval Station Norfolk. The in-flight ceremony marked the official transfer of command from Thomas to Ayotta. CHSCWL provides operational oversight, training, and readiness support for east coast-based helicopter sea combat squadrons deploying worldwide in support of maritime operations.
