NORFOLK, Va. (July 17, 2025) – Capt. Steven M. Thomas, outgoing commander of Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Atlantic (CHSCWL), is awarded the Legion of Merit for his exceptional leadership and service. His daughters pin the medal on him during the aerial change of command ceremony held over Naval Station Norfolk. CHSCWL provides operational oversight, training, and readiness support for east coast-based helicopter sea combat squadrons deploying worldwide in support of maritime operations.
