Campers in the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) STEM/Engineering & Construction Camp work together to construct a cardboard boat for a team race at Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville’s outdoor pool. Divided into six teams, campers competed in a friendly race, with the winners earning bragging rights. Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Southeast provided support to the weeklong camp that brings together high school students from across the country to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and math through real-world challenges, mentorship and team-based projects.
