Campers in the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) STEM/Engineering & Construction Camp work together to assemble their team’s cardboard boat at Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville’s outdoor pool, with support provided by Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Southeast. Once completed, teams competed in a friendly race for bragging rights. The weeklong camp brings together 50 high school students from across the country to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and math through real-world challenges, mentorship and team-based projects.
