U.S. Air Force airmen assigned with the 129th Rescue Wing, California Air National Guard, pose for a group photo with members of the Pacific Air Force, Philippine Air Force, and the Royal Australian Air Force after conducting a combined joint aeromedical exercise during Exercise Balikatan ’25, Darwin, Australia, May 9, 2025. The multi-national mission was a casualty evacuation exercise from Clark Air Base, Philippines, to the Royal Australian Air Force Base in Darwin, Australia, which demonstrated support of inter- and intra-theater aeromedical evacuation for any partner force across the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Area of Responsibility.
Balikatan, translates to “shoulder to shoulder”, is a longstanding annual exercise between the armed forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military designed to strengthen our ironclad alliance, improve our capable combined force and demonstrate our commitment to regional security and stability.
