Marine Cpl. Daniel C. Pigna, assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 3's Burma humanitarian assistance/disaster relief team, said he liked moving from an exercise to a real world operation. "If there's anything I could be doing, it's this," Pigna said. "The people of Burma need help, and the Marines were already here to give that help." Pigna and other CLR-3 Marines, already deployed to Thailand for Exercise Cobra Gold 2008, shifted their efforts to relief operations after Cyclone Nargis struck Burma, May 2, killing and displacing thousands of people. Pigna is a Pittsgrove, N.J. native, who graduated from A.P. Schalick High School.
