Marine Sgt. Fredric Kengetter, a team leader with Combat Logistics Regiment 3's Burma humanitarian assistance/disaster relief team, said it felt good to shift from an exercise to a real world operation. "We're actually making a difference now," Kengetter said. "People are getting the equipment, the food, what they need to rebuild their country. It feels good to be taking part in that." Kengetter and other CLR-3 Marines, already deployed to Thailand for Exercise Cobra Gold 2008, shifted their efforts to relief operations after Cyclone Nargis struck Burma, May 2, killing and displacing thousands of people. Kengetter, 22, is an Old Bridge, N.J. native, who graduated from Old Bridge High School in 2004.
