Tulsa District Forester Reilly Cloud waits for Lucille Morehouse from Boswell High School to finish the insect identification of the forestry competition near Broken Bow Lake April 9, 2025. Tulsa District USACE employees worked the event in partnership with local 4-H organizations, the Oklahoma State Parks system, Oklahoma Forestry Services, the Oklahoma Conservation Commission, Eastern Oklahoma State College, Oklahoma Forestry Association and the Ouachita Mountain Resource Conservation and Development Council.
Students were evaluated on insect identification, tree identification, compass and pacing, and forest evaluation. They also developed a simple management plan based on criteria provided for the area. (Official U.S. Army Corps of Engineers photo by Stacey Reese/released)
