The Columbia River Maritime Museum, in Astoria, Oregon, on March 7, 2025, and is located on the riverbank of the Columbia River, houses multiple exhibits to include the Astoria-based Obon Society’s Japanese “Good Luck Flags,” known as Yosegaki Hinomaru. The Obon Society’s mission is to facilitate the return of captured WWII flags to Japanese descendants of those soldiers who carried them off to war as send-off gifts.
