A Japanese “Good Luck Flags,” known as Yosegaki Hinomaru, is part of the exhibit curated by the Obon Society at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria, Oregon, on March 7, 2025. The Obon society’s mission is to facilitate the return of captured WWII flags to Japanese descendants of those soldiers who carried them off to war as send-off gifts.
