Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), biologist, Theodore Lange skillfully navigates the electrofishing boat during the Invasive Fish Slam. This collaborative effort not only helps locate and manage invasive species but also provides a valuable learning opportunity for young scientists in the field. The electroshock stuns the eels for a short amount of time; they often burrow themselves in the banks of lakes and ponds, making it challenging to capture them and manage the spread of this problematic fish.
