U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Aaron McCarthy, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician Short Term Individual Augment (STIA); Master Sgt. Caleb Jones, DPAA team sergeant and EOD technician; and U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Dylan Gross, DPAA recovery team member STIA, salute the U.S. flag and possible osseous during a repatriation ceremony on Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, Aug. 23, 2024. During the ceremony, team members and members of the Solomon Islands government transferred possible osseous material to DPAA for potential identification at the DPAA laboratory on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
