U.S. Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Karen Monday-Gresham, deputy commanding general for the 21st Theater Sustainment Command and commanding general of the 7th Mission Support Command, joined by her principal enlisted advisor, Command Sgt. Maj. Shahpour Eskandary, command sergeant major of the 7th Mission Support Command, discuss plans for facility updates for the U.S. Army Regional Mortuary for Europe and Africa, with Ms. Maureen Shrewsbury, the facility's program manager for the 21st Theater sustainment Command, following a site visit Friday, Jul. 26, 2024, in Landstuhl, Germany.
As the DCG, Monday-Gresham advocates for her units, increasing mission capability. The Landstuhl based facility supports the largest area of responsibility of any Army mortuary and has the largest case load outside of Dover Air Force Base, the primary mortuary for the Department of Defense and serves as the template for all other Armed Forces Mortuaries. The Regional Mortuary for Europe and Africa supports three combatant commands: U.S. Army European Command, U.S. Army Africa Command, and U.S. Army Central Command.
