A scale and white board are common tools for completing autopsies at the U.S. Army Regional Mortuary for Europe and Africa in Landstuhl, Germany. U.S. Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Karen Monday-Gresham, deputy commanding general of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command and commanding general of the 7th Mission Support Command, accompanied by the 7th Mission Support Command's principal enlisted advisor, Command Sgt. Maj. Shahpour Eskandary visit the facility, Friday, Jul. 26, 2024, at Landstuhl Kaserne, Germany.
The regional mortuary supports three combatant commands: U.S. Army European Command, U.S. Army Africa Command, and U.S. Army Central Command, making theirs the largest area of responsibility of any Army mortuary, with the largest case load outside of Dover Air Force Base, the primary mortuary for the Department of Defense and serves as the template for all other Armed Forces Mortuaries. As the DCG, Monday-Gresham advocates for her units, increasing mission capability. (U.S. Army Reserve photo by Staff Sgt. Jessica Forester)
