U.S. Army Sgt. Marquita Snow, a wheeled vehicle mechanic, and Spc. Kenaysha Stewart, a signal operations support specialist, both assigned to the National Guard 529th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, participate in holiday activities while attending a St. Patrick’s Day community event at a local school in Powidz, Poland, on March 19, 2024. Throughout the visit, the Soldiers exchanged stories of why they joined the military and what life in the military is like. The students practiced English language skills while hosting the U.S. Soldiers deployed as part of a rotation of forces to provide sustainment for training and operations on NATO’s eastern flank. The U.S. Army Soldiers are deployed as part of a rotation of forces to Poland to support multinational training and operations, enhance interoperability and contingency response capabilities with allies and partners, and deter adversaries in the European theater.
