PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 16, 2022) – U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Jackson Welder, a mortar man assigned to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, purchases items in the ship’s store aboard amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), Nov. 16, 2022. Retail services aboard include ship store management, vending machines, coffee kiosks, barber shops, and laundry operations. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship Makin Island and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P.
