SAN DIEGO BAY (Nov. 9, 2022) – Ensign Lewis Holliday takes a bearing on the bridge aboard amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), Nov. 9, 2022. Sailors maintain a continuous watch of the sea and report any kind of hazard that can be an obstacle in the navigation and cause harm to the ship. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship Makin Island and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P.
