201011-M-UV498-1530 PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 11, 2020) – U.S. Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) remove chains from MV-22 Ospreys with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164 (Reinforced), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, in preparation for planning and coordination of forward command element operations. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 15th MEU are currently conducting at-sea training events in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
