U.S. Marines with II Marine Expeditionary Force, Sailors from 2nd Fleet and 6th Fleet and planners from the Norwegian Armed Forces conduct small group discussions during bi-lateral planning on Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 24, 2019. “This is good for us, we are a small nation with a small army and when a crisis occurs, we would need help,” said Lt. Col. Geir Husby, chief of operational planning with the Norwegian Army. “What we can provide for the Marine Corps is the opportunity for them to get to do what they used to do 15-20 years ago, before Afghanistan. Train in a different environment with cold weather conditions.” II MEF hosted the bi-lateral event with Norwegian Army and Navy representatives to conduct detailed planning while developing and iterating Norwegian defense procedures. The event strengthened the relationship and enhanced interoperability between the Norwegian Armed Forces, Marine Corps and U.S. Navy. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Leynard Plazo)
