U.S. Marines with II Marine Expeditionary Force and planners from the Norwegian Armed Forces conduct small group discussions during bi-lateral planning on Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 24, 2019. “In case of an emergent crisis in Norway we hope to receive aid from both NATO and the U.S.,” said Lt. Col. Geir Husby, chief of operational planning with the Norwegian Army. “What we are doing here is assessing how Marine Corps would help Norway in case of an emergency and how to integrate planning and execute those plans.” II MEF hosted the bi-lateral event with Norwegian Army and Navy representatives to conduct detailed planning while developing and iterating Norwegian defense procedures. The event strengthened the relationship and enhanced interoperability between the Norwegian Armed Forces, Marine Corps and U.S. Navy. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Leynard Plazo)
