Acting Secretary of the Army, Ryan D. McCarthy presents a coin to Sgt. 1st Class Josiah Charles, assigned to Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) for his contributions to the defeat ISIS mission, during a visit to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Sept. 21, 2019. Charles, native of Grand Coteau, Louisiana, is currently assigned to the Logistics Directorate as the senior logistics Noncommissioned Officer. CJTF-OIR‘s primary mission is the defeat of ISIS in designated areas of Iraq and Syria and sets conditions for follow-on operations to increase regional stability.
