Acting Secretary of the Army, Ryan D. McCarthy presents a coin to Capt. Matt Hershon, assigned to Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) for his contributions to the defeat ISIS mission, during a visit to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Sept. 21, 2019. Hershon, native of Joshua, Texas, is currently assigned to the Resource Management directorate as a budget analyst. CJTF-OIR‘s primary mission is the defeat of ISIS in designated areas of Iraq and Syria and sets conditions for follow-on operations to increase regional stability.
