Cpl. Justin Jones from Ellijay, Ga., will compete in the 2012 Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, Colo., April 30-May 5. Jones, 23, will compete in shooting and archery. Jones, who is currently recovering at Wounded Warrior Battalion West Balboa detachment, was wounded in an improvised explosive device blast in Sangin, Afghanistan in 2011. At the time of the blast, he was carrying his friend to a medical evacuation landing zone because he was wounded in a previous blast. Jones suffered a shattered ankle and a broken fibula and tibia. More than 200 wounded, ill or injured service members from the Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Special Operations Command are scheduled to compete in the Paralympic-style competition.
