JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (June 14, 2019) – Phong Ly and Jetta Fant, Darnell-Cookman School of the Medical Arts students, apply plates and screws to simulated fractured bones as part of Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Science, Service, Medicine and Mentoring program. Thirteen high school students from Darnell-Cookman School of the Medical Arts are participating in the hospital’s S2M2 summer internship. The goal of S2M2 is to nurture students’ commitment to science and medicine in a welcoming and intellectually stimulating environment. The S2M2 partnership with Darnell-Cookman complements the school’s focus on equipping high-performing students with the skills and experiences to pursue advanced medical degrees.
