Lance Cpl. Damian J. Hideo, a motor transport operator with Golf Battery, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, fires a blank round during a rifle volley in honor of Cpl. Conner T. Lowry during the memorial service here, March 10, 2012. Hideo, a 21-year-old native of Saipan, drove ammunition to the battalion with Lowry during four months of predeployment training in 2011. Lowry died March 1, 2012, in Kajaki district, Afghanistan.
