Cpl. Conner T. Lowry, an ammunition technician chief and fire team leader with Golf Battery, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, cheers and runs after his squad fired a javelin missile in combat here, Jan. 17, 2012. Lowry, a 24-year-old native of Chicago, died March 1, 2012, while conducting combat operations in Kajaki district, Afghanistan. His friends remembered him as a loud, comical, and energetic Marine who kept a sense of humor even while he was being shot at. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Roger W. Malcolm)
