U.S. Army Capt. Joseph Spangler of Company A, 115th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, tests his ability to put together a radio and relay a 9-line unexploded ordnance report during the Task Force Maverick Spur Ride, Feb. 21, at the clamshell on Bagram Airfield. Spangler was one of 26 participants who went through the rigorous 11-hour event to earn his golden combat spurs.
