Candidates prepare to step off for a 12-mile road march at 3 a.m., Feb. 21, in front of the clamshell on Bagram Air Field. The road march was the first task completed for the Task Force Maverick Spur Ride in which 26 participants comprised of soldiers, airmen, sailors and civilians tested their fortitude and earned their golden combat spurs.
