A military naval vessel with an open well deck (flood deck) is visible from the perspective of a smaller craft approaching or departing. The larger ship appears to be an amphibious warfare vessel with cranes, superstructure, and vehicles visible on its upper deck. The image is taken from the deck of a smaller vessel, likely a landing craft or utility boat, approaching the stern gate of the larger ship.

Landing Craft Utility (LCU 1631) pulls away from the amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) Feb 11. The amphibious ready group is underway to support Cobra Gold 2012, the exercise consists of multinational combined joint training events executed annually and held throughout the Kingdom of Thailand. Exercise Cobra Gold is the largest multilateral exercise in the Asia-Pacific region, offering more than 20 participating countries opportunities to improve interoperability.
