CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait - Rep. John Garamendi, a Democrat from California’s 3rd district, and Rep. Deb Haaland, a Democrat from New Mexico’s 1st District, who are both members of the House Armed Services Committee, pose with Soldiers of the Army Field Support Battalion-Kuwait, 401st Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB) at a warehouse on Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, March 20, 2019. Haaland and Garamendi visited the AFSB to understand their approach to cost saving measures that will consolidate resources and drive reform efforts to modernize the U.S. Armed services defense strategy. The AFSB provides maintenance support, property accountability and logistical support throughout the Army Central Command’s (USARCENT) area of responsibility, enabling USARCENT to execute theater security.
