The bumper of a vehicle that exploded June 26 at Mosul Airfield, a multinational forces base in Mosul, Iraq lies burnt on the side of the road, approximately 100 meters from the site of the blast. The explosion killed four Iraqi nationals, including an innocent woman and a child and a Facilities Protective Services employee. The driver of the vehicle was also killed in the explosion. The vehicle was loaded with 122mm rockets and a 60mm mortar that did not detonate in the explosion. The scene was secured and explosive ordnance teams were sent in to dispose of the munitions. This was the first major terrorist attack in Mosul since June 24 when four car bombs exploded, killing more than 60 and wounding more than 200. (Photo by Spc. Blair Larson)
