JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Nov. 27, 2018) – Lt. j.g. Shannon Hunter, a nurse at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Multi-Service Unit, discusses the care plan with a patient. Hunter, a native of Columbus, Georgia, says “Nursing for me is the innate ability to provide wholehearted compassion and care. I was meant to be a nurse. It’s one of the most rewarding and honorable things I have done!” Hunter is the command’s newest DAISY Award winner, recognizing excellence in clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care.
