HN Blaine Bowman is a surgical technologist and simulation operational specialist assigned to the Healthcare Simulation and Bio Skills Center.
“What I like most about my job is working side by side with surgical attendings and department heads to assist in development, training and maintaining of medical professionals,” Bowman said.
Bowman’s work embodies responsibility and steadfast dedication to the department, directorate and command. As a member of the Bio Skills Lab, he requires little to no supervision in order to attain superior results. He schedules and provides superior training for medical students and interns, fleet surgical teams and the yearly Combat Extremity Surgery course. He assists in maintaining surgical instruments and equipment valued at $1.5 million. He coordinates with vendors to bring in specialty gear ensuring that NMCP surgeons are provided with state of the art equipment for use in the operating rooms.
