New Zealand Army Lance Cpl. Jonathan Sorenson and U.S. Marines conduct a movement during Exercise Joint Assault Signals Company Black, Waiouru Training Area, New Zealand, Oct. 5, 2018. Sorenson, a native of Christchurch, New Zealand, is a section second in command with 2 Engineer Regiment, 3 Field Squadron, 1 NZ Brigade. The Marines are radio operators and forward observers with 1st Brigade, 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, III MEF. During the training event, opposing forces consisting of components of the New Zealand Army and 5th ANGLICO Marines wielded various weaponry, including the Modular Assult Rifle System Light and the Carl Gustaf 84 millimeter rocket launcher.
