A C-130 from Pope Air Force Base, N.C., is the first U.S. Air Force plane to land at a base in Southwest Asia since it was recently re-opened on Aug. 26, 2011. The base, which has been closed since 2004, has been re-opened by a small group of airmen and made ready to conduct operations.
