SAN ANTONIO – (June 6, 2018) Electrician’s Mate 1st Class Thao Tran of Los Angeles, a recruiter assigned to Navy Recruiting Station De Zavala, Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio, volunteers at the San Antonio Food Bank during a Delayed Entry Program (DEP) meeting. Tran, originally from Vietnam, has served in America’s Navy for more than 16 years and became a recruiter in 2017. During the event, recruiters, along with more than 60 future Sailors and other volunteers, filled 575 bags of produce and sorted 19,447 pounds of food which will provide 15,558 meals for needy families.
