Ceiba, Puerto Rico, April 28, 2018--A wide view of one of the three aircrafts that flew through Hurricane María as part of the 2018 Hurricane Hunter Expo sponsored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Puerto Rico Emergency Management Agency (PREMA), held at the José Aponte De La Torre Airport at Ceiba, Puerto Rico. The data collected during Hurricane Hunter aircraft missions are vital for hurricane preparedness, response and planning operations. The National Hurricane Center uses the information compiled to learn the strength, speed, wind and direction of storms and hurricanes to predict the potential path of the weather event.
