    U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Public Affairs - Visual Communications Division           

    In 2008, DHS constructed 20 miles of current vehicle barriers west of the Santa Teresa Port of Entry in New Mexico. Since then, traffic patterns and threats have shifted, creating a need for pedestrian barrier in this location. DHS’s FY 2017 Enacted Appropriations provided funding to replace this 20 mile stretch of vehicle barrier with steel bollard wall.
