    Remote locations, narrow roads, rugged terrain and dense vegetation present challenging circumstances for the workers restoring power to the island of Puerto Rico. An estimated 80 percent of the power grid in Puerto Rico was destroyed by Hurricane Maria, in September 2017. FEMA assigned the United States Army Corps of Engineers to the lead the federal effort to repair the hurricane-damaged electrical power grid in support of the Government of Puerto Rico.     A rural road has suffered significant structural damage, with a large section of pavement collapsed or severely cracked on the right side.     A paved road is completely blocked by a large mass of fallen bamboo and vegetation, likely the result of a severe storm or cyclone. The bamboo stalks have collapsed across the road, forming an arch-like canopy that renders the road impassable.     Utility workers are performing electrical line repair or restoration work at a power pole, using multiple bucket trucks to elevate workers to height.
