171011-M-CK339-039 MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Oct. 11, 2017) – Marines assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s (MEU), Aviation Combat Element, fire at targets during a deck shoot aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), Oct. 11, 2017. The 15th MEU perform deck shoots to remain proficient with their weapons and be prepared as a maritime crisis-contingency force. San Diego is deployed with the America Amphibious Ready Group and 15th MEU to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
