U.S. Navy HM1 Froilan Bundalian, a corpsman with Medical Logistics Company, 3rd Supply Battalion, is a Philippine native now serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, and is conducting humanitarian civic assistance activities in support of KAMANDAG in Casiguran, Aurora, Philippines, October 2017. “I was born on October 1st, 1982, and I’m from Quezon City. My life growing up was simple. I can relate with the kids out here, especially with how they play. I had no internet or WiFi; only sticks and anything we could find around us. So, that’s how I grew up in the Philippines. I moved to the U.S. when I was 25. After a year went by of working two jobs, I grew tired and ended up joining the military instead. My original plan was to do my time and go to college after that, but I decided to stay in, and this is where I am now. But it has been great because the U.S. Navy has allowed me to continue my education and travel around the world. I feel very humbled now to be back in the Philippines, because I’ve seen how I grew up and now I’m able to give the locals of Casiguran some influence and background on how I came to be where I am today.” (U.S. Marine Corps photo illustration by Sgt.
