JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Aug. 17, 2017) – Capt. John Bassett, a gastroenterology physician at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, examines and educates Senior Chief Fire Control Technician Craig Allen, from Trident Training Facility Kings Bay, on the dangers of colorectal cancer and the benefits of early screenings for this disease. Of cancers affecting both men and women, colorectal cancer is the second leading cancer killer in the U.S. People age 50 and over should ask their doctor for a colorectal screening test now. Screening also finds cancer at an early stage, when treatment often leads to a cure. (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
