170524-N-KC128-0075 PEARL HARBOR (May 24, 2017) Faces of the Deep: "After I committed to being in the nuclear community the recruiter said I would either go to a submarine or an aircraft carrier. They told me how many people were on an aircraft carrier and I know I like small groups better because you are able to get to truly know people. With a crew this small we are not just together at work we know each other and spend time together even after work. That is how you make a good submarine better," said Electrician's Mate 2nd Class (Nuclear) John DeWeese, a native of Warren, Indiana, and Sailor on the Virginia-class Submarine USS Mississippi (SSN 782).
