170307-N-KC128-213 PEARL HARBOR (March 7, 2017) Faces of the Deep: "I have been in the Navy for about 8 months so I am still getting used to submarine life. The boat has pretty good morale and everyone seems to work together to get the job done well. Right now I am just focused on getting my qualifications done. On the boat, everyone is depending on each other to fight the ship and understand how it operates. I think that is why getting my qualification is so important. It means that if the worst happens people can depend on me to help,” said Machinist’s Mate Non-Nuclear, Submarine Auxiliary Fireman Eric Martinez, a native of Long Beach, California, and Sailor on the Virginia-class Submarine USS Texas (SSN 775).
