170307-N-KC128-083 PEARL HARBOR (March 7, 2017) Faces of the Deep: “I always thought it would be cool to go to the North Pole. That is what I was thinking when I joined the Submarine Force. I haven’t been there as of yet but there is a chance I may get to experience that someday,” said Machinist's Mate 2nd Class (SS) Brandon West, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah and Sailor on the Virginia-class Submarine USS Texas (SSN 775). “One thing I won’t forget is the time we had a swim call near Maui. We had just completed Sea Trials and the captain made sure everyone had a chance to get in the water. It was a really cool experience.”
