USS MAKIN ISLAND, Pacific Ocean (April 14, 2017) An MV-22 Osprey with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), takes off from the flight deck of USS Makin Island (LHD-8) as part of a bilateral training exercise conducted with Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), April 14. The Osprey transported Marines with Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) Detachment, 11th MEU, to Malaysia to work with MAF service members during the expeditionary strike/ close-air support training exercise. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group/11th MEU is currently deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of regional security and stability. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
